Got niggling or chronic pain? Did you get a new injury on the sporting field? Is a part of your body moving in not-quite-the-right way? Is there a problem that is getting in the way of your daily home, working or sporting life?

Remedial massage therapy can help. Remedial massage treats the whole body holistically and traces the discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause.

Remedial therapists have a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology as well as injury management and rehabilitation.

Joel will strive to relieve you of pain and discomfort while also putting a stop to the acute to chronic injury cycle by preventing your body from adapting to the pain caused by injury or incorrect posture.

This strategy is enabled by professional management of your injuries – and Joel’s 100% commitment to patients.

Joel completed his qualifications at the Australian College of Sports Therapy in late 2013, where he studied a three year advanced diploma of sports therapy.

Sports therapy, although a very new industry, is a rapidly growing and now integral component to the health care system. It involves the prevention (pre-hab), assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculosketal injuries, essential for reaching one’s peak performance or a state of wellbeing.

This is performed through several types of modalities including:

  • Massage
  • Stretching
  • Peripheral joint mobilisations
  • Strapping/Taping
  • Exercise prescription
  • Corrective exercises.

Joel gained a position with the elite athletes of the Melbourne Victory Football Club where he applies his knowledge and skills in a practical setting. This role lead Joel to the opportunity to work on the grass of the MCG with the elite athletes of the Liverpool Football Club. The Ferntree Gully Eagles Football Club also host Joel as a Sports Therapist where he guides players of all ages through the injury and rehabilitation process.

As a keen runner and someone who sees exercise as an integral part of everyday life, Joel aims to lead by example by not only talking the talk but walking the walk.
