Brad has worked in the Health and Fitness industry for over 8 years as Personal Trainer, Endurance Sports Coach and Remedial Massage Therapist. Brad also has over 25 years as a competitive cyclist and triathlete. During his career he has raced many different road races, mountain bike and adventure races, Sprint, Olympic, Half Ironman and Ironman Triathlon distances, qualifying for the Hawaiian Ironman World Championships in 2011.

As a Personal Trainer he understands the importance of work/life/family/training balance. His training philosophy is to learn about his client. He respects that not every client responds to the same methods – some like repetition, some get bored, some need individual sessions and some excel in-group sessions. Brad takes the time and makes the effort to learn what motivates you, what your strengths and weaknesses are and he is driven to help you improve your life and achieve your goals.

Helping people understand why training is important, how to get the best out of their bodies and how to maintain their bodies is a fundamental part of Brads practice. A great listener, Brad also has a clear and open communication style and will work with you to set realistic and achievable goals. At the end of the day Brad is committed to helping all of his clients and athletes achieve the best out of their bodies whilst remaining injury free.

Joel Hurls Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer

You may recognise Joel already at Hurls Fitness, as he’s also the Remedial/Sports therapist here,
however he’s also recently added a certificate III and IV in fitness to his already completed advance
diploma of sports therapy skill set and is keen to get you on board.

He brings his functional training style into his in depth knowledge of Correct posture and movement
analysis and tries to imply this into his training style, focusing on building up clients first or “creating a foundation” before gradually pushing and upping their workload, this way he will have you training “smart” rather then hard, keeping you engaged, healthy and most importantly injury free.

Joel tries to bring his passion and love for the health and fitness industry and motivate his clients to feel the same way, not only with the assistance of well thought out training programs but also with some greats tips.

Joel is someone who has been involved with sports and fitness his whole life, whether it be in his
younger days as a keen cross country and long distance runner or more recently playing soccer and
tennis and he brings his love for fitness into his training, with his high energy approach.

Joel is also a firm believer of goal setting and the importance of what motivation and encouragement
can do for his clients, enabling his clients to stick to their guns and turn exercise into a fun event rather then a chore.

Joel also loves to fully engage with his clients and get an understanding of their lifestyle, work and hobbies in order to give his clients the full tailored approach.

Zoe has always been in the sports industry in some capacity. From being a player for the Bulleen Boomers Basketball Club from the age of 7, through to getting a Sports Management Degree and working in AFL (Carlton Football Club) for 10 years, and participating in a multitude of sports/activities, you could say that she has always been a part of the sports scene.

But it wasn’t until 9 years ago when she began lifting weights, that a true passion was found.

Building and expressing strength is addictive, for all the right reasons. Not only in a physiological capacity but in a mental one too. Zoe has since gone on to successfully compete in both Bodybuilding (1st place ICN Fitness Model) and Powerlifting (1st place U84kg Powerlifting Australia) competitions, and is an accredited coach in both capacities.

Whilst Zoe coaches competitors, her preference is coaching general population clients to achieve the best versions of themselves and whom want to age well. She uses best evidence-based practices when it comes to training and nutrition, and gets a thrill by educating clients on weight training and showing them that they are capable of more than they thought possible.

A stickler for technique and safety in lifting, she will teach you how to train and program you accordingly to help you reach your goals – whether it be fat loss, muscle gaining, or strength related.
